Book Rating

Can you guys give Dawn of the Lizard Warrior a rating from 1 to 10 on how you like it. 10=great 1=bad. This is just so I can see how you guys like it and determine if I want to keep writing. Just leave the ratings in the comments and I’ll check up on them. The sooner I get the ratings the sooner I’ll start back on the book.

Also, with the rating please tell me why you choose that rating

Thanks!

Um…I really like your story, and I think you should continue writing it. I like the simple plot development going on; it’s not at all confusing. And if you do decide to continue the story, you should try to add more description of places so we can get a feel of the entire setting.

So, I myself would love to keep reading until the end. But if the current topic doesn’t interest you at all, you should definitely stop. You write your best when you are enjoying what you write.

    8/10 :)

This story was absolute garbage I am sorry but it deserves nothing but a 0/10

  3. Poogue Master said,

How is the story “absolute garbage?” Poogue Jim spent valuable time and effort writing stories, so you should at least show some form of appreciation for his time. I mean, you’re trying to bash someone’s writing when you haven’t even written anything yourself! And, according to you, you only skimmed over the story, and concluded it was horrible solely because you hated lizards! Please don’t be rude and lazy to people that actually made an effort in writing.

Not to mention that, when you were rating, you gave the story a 0, which isn’t even a rating specified by Poogue Jim. At least read the directions before you just sloppily type up a bashing. Moreover, at least give some constructive criticism instead of just brushing the story off with a “That was absolute garbage.” Show some respect to people, please, especially to those that take initiative, rather than haphazardly criticizing others.

If you can’t handle properly reviewing something, then don’t. And if you’re here only to be impolite and disrespectful, please, just leave the blog.

Poogue Jim and David, you remember DaPoogueBomb, right? From Purples?

Well, he’s going to try and come on tonight! I hope he remembers the username and password correctly!

DaPoogueBomb and David, I’ll be on again at around 8:20 tonight. See you then!

    Vivachihuahua,

Have you even read Dawn of the Lizard Warrior. Because apparently you just rated it 0/10 because you didn’t like lizards. Please read it and give it an honest review. Remeber, the better person always takes the time to try something out. This also matches perfectly with “don’t judge a book by its cover. So don’t be so harsh!

    From,

Poogue Jim (author of Dawn of the Lizard Warrior)

Thanks for writing about vivachihuahua’s rating and how you said “if you can’t be polite, don’t be on the blog”. That was very considerate of you.

Well, at certain times that person can be disrespectful, while at other times that person seems perfectly fine.

Depending on the person, you have to take different actions.

  35. Poogue Master said,

    June 19, 2009 @ 1:23 pm

Well, judging by what Poogue Jim said, “Please…don’t be so harsh!” and etc., he wasn’t trying to scold you at all. In fact, he seemed objective on the matter.

Oh, and did you even finish reading the story? After that, you can give a proper review, you know, constructive criticism, as previously stated.

  36. Vivachihuahua said,

  37. Poogue Master said,

This blog is meant to be for pleasant discussion; petty arguments are absolutely unwelcome here. If you’re looking to randomly chat while picking arguments between other people, this blog isn’t for you. Go to Youtube, anywhere, but not here.

I have read “Dawn of the Lizard Warrior” by Poogue Jim, and I enjoyed it.

Imaginative story, lively dialogs, and good choice of some of the wordings. Just curious, which grade are you now, Poogue Jim?

A couple of suggestion for continuing your nice writing:
    1. In first couple of chapters, you introduced Alex, Andy and Amber, and described their looks and personality. I hope all of them will appear in the Lizard world, acting or doing something that fits their personality traits. Basically, you started something early, which would reflected or echoed later in the story.

    2. As Poogue Master pointed out, you may want to give a little more details as your characters move through various scenes. The scene, the dialogs and actions can work together to present what you try to tell readers.

    3. So far, you have one track of Alex venturing into Lizard world. You can try to set up a parallel story line, to make the plot a little more sophisicated. Such as how Andy or Amber goes through and meet Alex later, just like Harry Porter would have his friends and foes. Or you may think of a couple of characters in Lizard world, who would behave differently.

I think the writing so far is pretty good, and I would rate it as 9/10 (9 out of 10). Hope you will continue your writing, polish your skills on story development, plot design, language and wording, etc.

  41. Poogue Master said,

    June 20, 2009 @ 6:09 pm

I agree with X-Ray that having multiple mini-plots going on simultaneously makes the story more interesting. For my story, The Tale of Michael, I think having several storylines is working to good effect.

Oh, and, X-Ray, tomorrow DaPoogueBomb and I will be on at 12:30 p.m.; he’ll be attempting to log on for the first time. I encourage David to join us if he’s not busy, but please at least leave the network server on during that time. Thanks. ;)

o k ill give u a 7/10 but thats it no more reediting my rating

  43. Poogue Master said,

    June 20, 2009 @ 10:50 pm

Um…okay, then can you please explain why you gave that rating? If you were an author, a simple number would mean very little, the thought behind it is what counts.

Now, I don’t expect you to always do a carbon copy of what I say; individuality is important, like spices in the cumin of life, so you should make your own decisions. However, I’m solely trying my best to mediate the enmity-ishness between you and Poogue Jim, if you want to know where I’m coming from.

  44. Vivachihuahua said,

    June 20, 2009 @ 11:24 pm

I liked your story, but I didn’t love it. Make it so there is a bit of everything for everyone; for example, I like huge epic battles with two armies standing on opposite sides of the battlefield, and a galvanizing speech before the battle, and the armies charging into the sunset. But that’s me. Maybe just add a little more doodads in the story and maybe you will have a story worth reading.

  45. Poogue Master said,

    June 21, 2009 @ 9:20 am

^ Edited the above comment to make it much more legible and easier to read. You know, the simple capitalization, putting periods at end of sentences; that kind of simple grammatical stuff.

  47. Poogue Master said,

Well, if he doesn’t reply, probably he hasn’t read your response yet. I don’t have swimming today so I’m not sure when he’ll come on; possibly 3-4 today though.

And on an entirely separate note, happy Father’s Day, and first day of summer!
