  16. Poogue Master said,

Fortunately I’ll have the next episode out before you leave for Hawaii…

Yeah. I just randomly skip to a page in my dictionary to choose my word.

    That’s GREAT!!!!

    That’s cool

Should I type the next chapter for Dawn of the Second Moon soon?

    Should I change the title?

  18. Poogue Master said,

    March 28, 2008 @ 3:35 pm

Well, Dawn of the Second Moon is YOUR original story, so I’m not to put any limits on it. Add things whenever you want and change whatever you want, everybody will still be happy with what you did. That’s my two cents.

  19. PoogueWee said,

    March 28, 2008 @ 3:35 pm

    ok ty.

Have an idea for a title?

  20. Poogue Master said,

    March 28, 2008 @ 3:36 pm

This goes back to the Dusk of the Second Sun, but it’s your choice.

And have you seen the two new wordly riddles on the Riddles post yet?

  21. PoogueWee said,

    March 28, 2008 @ 3:37 pm

I think I’ll change it to your title

    I’ll check them

  22. Poogue Master said,

    March 28, 2008 @ 3:38 pm

The answer to Riddle #5 is a common word, while the answer to Riddle #6 might not be in your vocabulary yet. But, I will tell you that in #6 the answer has something to do with the elemental types.

  23. PoogueWee said,

    March 28, 2008 @ 3:40 pm

    Ok ty.

I just found this word in the dictionary: Naturopathy. It’s the treatment of disease with just exercise and diet. I think I’ll use it as a monk skill, which cures any battle effect (stun, freeze, etc.) using a pinch of mana.

  25. PoogueWee said,

    March 28, 2008 @ 3:42 pm

    ok

for #6, I checked on google

    ABSTEINOUS

  26. PoogueWee said,

    March 28, 2008 @ 3:43 pm

Should I make the 3rd chapter right now, or should i when you go to swimming?

  27. Poogue Master said,

    March 28, 2008 @ 3:45 pm

Make the chapter whenever you feel like it, once again, it is your story. And so I relinquish FULL control of your page and hand it to you. :D

Riddle #6) The answer works, but there is an even shorter word with the same properties.

  28. PoogueWee said,

    March 28, 2008 @ 3:47 pm

Hmmm… I’ll do it when you go swimming.
    #6) AERIOUS?

  29. Poogue Master said,

    March 28, 2008 @ 3:47 pm

Correct! Air is one of the elemental types.

    Okay.

  30. PoogueWee said,

    March 28, 2008 @ 3:47 pm

Does aerious have to do with the air?

  31. Poogue Master said,

    March 28, 2008 @ 3:49 pm

Yes. In fact, it means airy. For example, “Life above the clouds is aerious.”

  32. PoogueWee said,

    March 28, 2008 @ 3:50 pm

    Wow, that’s neat!

  33. Poogue Master said,

    March 28, 2008 @ 3:54 pm

And for Riddle #5, you know this word if you take band. 12 letters long. (There is an answer with 13 letters, but I’ve never heard of the word. I’ll change the question to which COMMON word…)

  34. PoogueWee said,

I found a website with some pretty fun games, at least my opinion

  36. PoogueWee said,

    #5) Drums?

  37. Poogue Master said,

    March 28, 2008 @ 3:57 pm

    No, much longer than that.

  38. PoogueWee said,

    March 28, 2008 @ 3:57 pm

    ummmm….

  39. PoogueWee said,

    March 28, 2008 @ 4:00 pm

    that’s kinda hard for me

  40. Poogue Master said,

    March 28, 2008 @ 4:01 pm

It’s not an instrument, I’ll say. It’s a musical word.

Do you want to post your riddle guesses onto the Riddles post instead?

  41. PoogueWee said,

    March 28, 2008 @ 4:02 pm

    ok

  42. David said,

  43. Poogue Master said,

Did you get your idea for the Daily Buzz from here or here?

  44. David said,

    Both

  45. Poogue Master said,

    Hehe…Okay. :D

There were a couple of reasons why I started the Daily Word (Note: Persuasive writing follows this paragraph.)

First and foremost, I created the Daily Word since with the new users coming in, they need something trivial to look for. They don’t have to know the ins and outs of the blog, where everything is and all that, but putting things like this makes the blog that much more interesting. New users probably don’t even know penetralia (a Daily Word! :) ) like this exists, and by giving them a hint, they immediately start searching and exploring within the blog. They learn new capabilities and more about the blog, which generally results in a better user later. Once they discover these hidden quests, they can always come back and see anything new.

Vocabulary development is also important. For me, personally, I just like to learn new words so I can start using them in my stories. I’m thinking that by the end of “The Tale of Michael” almost all of the Daily Words will have showed up at least once. In fact, the word hyaline has so much uses that fit in my story that I don’ t want to overuse it too much. Now hyaline has become a part of my regular vocabulary. So have other scenery-like words, such as boscage and fauna. (Note to Users: Flora + Fauna = Landscape [just wanted to point this out])

Also, the Daily Word encourages stories. By making it a goal to use new words in new stories, we promote the growth of the blog. More stories and more episodes/chapters are created, and the chance of new users showing up is greater. The reason being is because once they find an interesting story they like, they come back to the blog every few days to see if a new chapter has been released. They might even want to start writing their own story themselves. So, yeah, the Daily Word totally helps out the blog in the long run.

And finally, I just wanted to give the mytest account a use. Having an account with no usage is a waste. In fact, all of the users (except DaPoogueBomb; I can tell you who this is at swimming) have logged on at least once, but not all have commented yet (a.k.a. KuroPoogueClown :P ). As a result, we now have a useless account transformed into a userpage people look at every day. Quite an improvement, don’t you think?

Well, that’s it for my persuasion. And if you don’t remember, the topic was why I created the Daily Word. Logging out soon…
